Battle Belt 3 D-Ring Cobra Pro
Battle Belt 3 is constructed of 45 mm webbing and Curv composite. Dedicated 45 mm belt webbing is more stiff, more durable and thicker compared to standard webbing. That makes entire platform more stable and heavy-duty.
PALS/Molle frame is made of Curv composite. It's durable material that won't break, fray or torn like laminate. Top and bottom edges are covered with binding tape. Gap between them is PALS/Molle compatibile.
Inner side of BB-3 is lined with 40 mm velcro hook. Belt can be combined with pants belt (lined with velcro loop) or comfort pad. Large velcro area makes platform stable even with heavy loads.
Female side of Cobra buckle is fixed. Adjusting webbing has velcro loop stitched to it for two reasons. One - prevents self-loosening in the buckle. Two - you can fold excess of webbing and secure it with One-Wrap strap.
Battle Belt 3 is not tested and intented to be used as asecuration belt. Nevertheless stitching of female end is reinforced.
BB-1 or BB-3?
To make it easier, here are main differences between these two:
- BB-1 features changable buckles while BB-3 has fixed buckle;
- BB-1 uses 25 mm buckle and BB-3 45 mm buckle;
- Main chasis of BB-1 is Curv frame, while in BB-3 it's 45 mm webbing. Cobra buckles of both sized got same strength but some users prefer 45 mm because of load distribution when using D-Ring;
- Both belts have simillar stiffness and stability.
Which one should you get, then? If you are looking for lightweight platform - Battle Belt 1. If you need workhorse for heavy-duty and you need D-Ring capabilities - Battle Belt 3.
